Area players represented on All-State football teams

Area football players are receiving post-season recognition, with two members being selected to the Indiana All-Academic team and six named to the Indiana Football Coaches Association All-State team.

South Putnam's Sam Gould and North Putnam's Hank Spencer were named to the 2011 Indiana All-Academic team. Gould and Spencer were two of the 24 players honored. To earn All-Academic honors a player must be a senior, play in 70 percent of the team's games, have a GPA of 3.4 or higher and an SAT score of 1,660 or higher or an ACT score of 24 or higher.

North Putnam's Kolten Everts and Spencer, along with South Putnam's Rob Gibson, were named to the IFCA Class 2A All-State team. South Putnam's Ryan Chestnut and Justin Bumgardner and North Putnam's Eric Davis were named to the Class 2A Junior All-State Team.
