MHAPC hosts second New Year's 5K Fun Run/Walk fundraiser

Tuesday, December 27, 2011

Mental Health America of Putnam County will hold its second annual New Year's 5K Fun Run and Walk on Saturday, Dec. 31 at 9 a.m.

The event will take place at Tzouanakis Intermediate School and participants will have the choice to walk the Tzouanakis Nature Trail or they may select the 5K non-competitive run on the new section of People Pathways.

The family event is an opportunity to start the new year with a healthy activity that includes the entire family. Even the family dog is invited.

MHAPC makes every effort to let people know about the real connection between a healthy body and a healthy mind.

The New Year's Fun Run and Walk can be a great way to jump-start that resolution to get healthy through exercise while spending time with family and doing something positive for one's mental well-being.

Cost of the event is $5 per person or $15 per family. Refreshments will be served by the Greencastle McDonald's following the run/walk.

All proceeds from the event will go to Mental Health America of Putnam County to fund its ongoing community programs.

Registration forms may be obtained in advance by contacting MHAPC at 653-3310 or at mhapc@cinergymetro.net.

Participants may also register on the day of the event at Tzouanakis Intermediate School, 500 Linwood Drive, Greencastle.
