Mary Lou Etter

Mrs. Mary Lou (Gorham) Etter, age 94, of Greencastle, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012 at Asbury Towers Healthcare.

Born Aug. 26, 1917 in Greencastle, she was the daughter of Sherman D. and Bessie (Crawley) Earley and was a 1934 graduate of Greencastle High School.

She married Donald Gorham on Oct. 10, 1934, and he preceded her in death on June 13, 1968. She married Robert L. Etter on Oct. 4, 1974, and he preceded her in death on July 30, 2002.

Mary Lou had retired from Lonestar Industries in 1982 and was a member of the Center Community Church of Plainfield.

Survivors include her daughters, Donna (Robert) Minnick of Cloverdale and Linda (Joseph) Kerr of Wake Forest, N.C.; stepdaughters, Sally Query of Greencastle, Peggy (Paul) Harrold of Lakewood, Colo., and Diane (Steve) Denton of Moore, S.C.; stepdaughter-in-law, Lyla Etter of Greenwood; five grandchildren, Teresa (Robert) Cline, Lisa (Greg) Kincer, Lori (Alex) Lortschner, Mike (Jacque) Minnick, and Mark (Lisa) Minnick; 11 step grandchildren, Brad Query, Marla (David) Corbin, Chris Query, Pamela (Rob) Carrington, Suzanne (Rod) Harrison, Theresa Harrold, Amy (Mike) Doud, Elizabeth (Kevin) Clauson, Rebecca Harrold, Rob Etter and Tracy (Richard) Mangus; and several great and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; parents; stepson, Charles L. Etter; brother, Eugene Earley; grandson, Martin Kerr; step-grandson, Tony Minnick; and a stepson-in-law, Marvin Query

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Chaplain Jim Staggers officiating. Burial will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home on Monday, Jan. 9.
