Clara Ann Rutenberg

Clara Ann Rutenberg, 79, Cloverdale, passed away on Jan. 9, 2012 at her residence.

She was born on Nov. 17, 1932 at Shelbyville, Ind., and was the daughter of the late Fred and Willa Everman (Elder) Sorden.

She was married to Charles Lee Rutenberg on Sept. 22, 1958, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 2002.

She was a registered nurse and retired from Richard L. Roudebush Medical Center.

She was a member of the Cloverdale Christian Church, America Legion Auxiliary, Hurst-Collins Post 281, Cloverdale, National Association of Retired Federal Employees and the St. Vincent School of Nursing Alumni Association.

She is survived by her children, Lee Ann Carter and husband Danny, Center Point, Mark Rutenberg and wife Victoria, Cloverdale, David Rutenberg and wife Rheda, Poland, 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her grandson, Daniel Carter.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13 at Forest Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12 at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale.
