GCSC School Board appointee sought

I am writing on behalf of the Greencastle School Board. At our January public meeting, the school board accepted the resignation of board member Monica Fennell, an appointee of the Greencastle City Council.

The board is empowered to appoint a member to fill the vacancy within 30 days, and the replacement's term will last through June 30, 2014.

We invite residents of the City of Greencastle with an interest in filling the vacancy to apply. We ask that applicants submit a letter of interest and resume and, if they wish, other supporting materials so that we receive them no later than Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012.

We hope to have a good pool of qualified candidates.

Besides having been a resident of the City of Greencastle for a minimum of three years, the appointee must be at least 21 years of age and be a registered voter.

Envelopes containing application materials should be addressed to the Greencastle Community School Corporation (GCSC) Board of School Trustees, c/o Board President Bruce Stinebrickner, 711 S. Central Ave., Greencastle, IN 46135.

As already mentioned, we need to receive them by Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012.
