Tiger Cubs end regular season perfect

The Greencastle High School bowling team completed the regular season undefeated in the Wabash Valley South High School Bowling Conference.

The Greencastle team of Austin Alspaugh, Reggie Alex, April Cain, Joe Fields, Brittany Friars, Zane Miller, Jacob Schick and Ray Stinson finished the season 11-0 with a victory over Lebanon on Saturday at Revolutions Bowling Center in Frankfort.

North Putnam's team of Jeremiah Fink, Blake Bonifacius, Dalton Spear, Josh Andreu, Yzander Crowe, K.C. Lofton, Tyler Arnold, Joe Mindiola and Nikki Wertz finished the season with a win over Clinton Prairie.

In the 10-game position round format on Saturday, Greencastle won six games. Greencastle's six wins came by scores of 178-162, 192-169, 171-164, 174-172, 187-180, 158-146. Lebanon, second in the league standings, won four games by scores of 174-158, 267-195, 180-152 and 154-143.

Stinson, a senior, bowled in the closer position through nine games and brought Greencastle from behind twice with strikes for a 174-172 win in game six and a 187-180 win in game seven.

North Putnam's eight wins over Clinton Prairie came by scores of 122-79, 158-93, 121-107, 105-102, 161-122, 158-123, 115-108, 104-102. North tied with CP 86-86 in game seven. CP won game five 97-90.

Greencastle and North Putnam go to Lafayette on Saturday for the Wabash Valley High School Bowling Conference championship at Mike Aulby's Arrowhead Bowl. Teams from the South Division compete with teams from the North (Lafayette area) for the conference title.

The sectional competition is Jan. 29 at Plaza Lanes in Crawfordsville.
