Winter Reading Program under way at Putnam County Public Library

Monday, February 6, 2012

The Winter Reading Program, "Reading with Heart," began Feb. 1 at the Putnam County Public Library and will continue throughout the month.

The winter program is designed to encourage families to read together, to develop the love of reading.

Each family can pick up a bingo card at the Children's Desk, or on the bookmobile, to play. Every time a family achieves a bingo they will be entered into a drawing for prizes.

Magician C.R. Ryan and his six-year-old son -- and assistant -- will perform at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15 at the library as a Winter Reading program family event.

The library would like to thank the following businesses for the donation of prizes for the Winter Reading program: Casa Grande Mexico, Almost Home, The Blue Door, Final Approach, Chicago's Pizza, The Inn at DePauw and Monical's Pizza.

For more information about how to participate, persons may contact the PCPL Children's Department at 653-2755, ex. 121, or visit the library at 103 E. Poplar St., Greencastle.
