PCH offers thanks for food, paper drive success

To the Editor:

Putnam County Hospital would like to thank all of those that helped make the "Hope for a Super 2012" Food and Paper Product Drive a great success.

The event was held on Thursday, Jan. 26, a very drizzly day, at the hospital. But despite the weather, we had tremendous support for our event. We collected nearly 1,200 food and paper product items that were then distributed among five organizations within Putnam County.

We owe a great big thank you to our co-sponsors: Horizon Hospice Care, WREB 94.3FM, The Banner Graphic and the FFA chapters at North Putnam and South Putnam high schools.

We would like to commend the FFA students for their efforts to make this event such a success. They rallied support for the event and did all of the "heavy lifting" of accepting and sorting the donated items.

And, of course, a huge thank you to our community. You answered the call and stepped up to help our neighbors in need.

We greatly appreciate everyone's support!
