City Police

Three recent arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

-- At 3:14 a.m. Wednesday, Capt. Charles Inman was called to an apartment on South Vine Street, where he reportedly found Jeffrey Hunter, 19, Coatesville, to be a minor in consumption of alcohol.

Hunter, who tested .175 percent blood-alcohol, was not taken to jail but will be summoned into court to face the alcohol-related charge.

-- At 12:55 p.m. Tuesday, Julia Robbins, 22, Roachdale, was arrested by Capt. Mike Hanlon on a theft charge at the Greencastle Police Department.

-- At 6:26 p.m. Monday, Amber Seketa, 25, Greencastle, was arrested by Reserve Officer Jeremiah Johnson at a residence at 307 Johnson St.

Lodged in the Putnam County Jail, Seketa was arrested on a warrant for contempt of court.

Six recent traffic accidents were investigated by GPD officers.

-- At 1:45 p.m. Monday, a two-car accident was reported at South Jackson and Walnut streets.

Melissa Kemp, 44, Greencastle, was northbound on Jackson, driving a 1998 Plymouth Neon, when a 1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, driven by Natasha Adamson, 22, Greencastle, pulled out of Walnut Street into Kemp's path and a collision occurred.

Adamson told Reserve Officer Jackson that she did not see the cross traffic coming. Damage was estimated at $1,000-$2,500.

-- At 10:18 a.m. Monday, a two-car mishap occurred at Washington and Durham streets.

Brenda Smith, 53, Greencastle, was eastbound on Washington Street and had stopped her 1999 Honda to turn left onto Durham when the vehicle was struck from behind by a 2004 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Edward Watts Jr., 82, Brazil.

Capt. Mike Hanlon estimated total damage at $1,000-$2,500.

-- A two-vehicle mishap was reported in front of Taco Bell on Indianapolis Road at 12:20 p.m. Sunday.

Raymond Hall, 19, Greencastle, was westbound on Indianapolis Road, driving a 2003 Chevrolet S-10 pickup as Daniel Allen. 22, Cincinnati, was exiting the Taco Bell driveway in a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt, and a collision occurred.

Officer Jeff Modlin estimated total damage at $2,500-$5,000.

-- A two-vehicle mishap was reported on Indianapolis Road just before noon Friday.

Jeremy Robinson, 24, Plainfield, was westbound, and had stopped his 1999 Jeep Cherokee to turn left into First National Bank when he was struck from behind by a 1992 Chevrolet S-10 pickup, driven by Lewis Buis, 81, Greencastle.

Buis said his brakes locked up and his vehicle slid on the wet pavement.

Officer Darrel Bunten estimated total damage in the 11:58 a.m. accident at $2,500-$5,000.

-- A minor accident occurred at 11:23 a.m. Friday in the parking lot at Putnam Plaza.

Michael Branham, 69, Quincy, reportedly backed his 2004 Dodge Ram into a parked, unoccupied 1999 Ford Taurus, owned by Trillis Warner, Spencer, while the owner was in PNC Bank.

Capt. Hanlon listed overall damage at $1,000-$2,500.

-- At 3:29 p.m. Friday, a two-car accident was reported on Avenue B.

Sgt. Chris Jones reported that Barbara Hill, 67, Greencastle, was eastbound, turning right into a driveway when her 1993 Oldsmobile Silhouette was struck from behind by a 2009 Pontiac, driven by Sabrina Arnold, 17, Fillmore.

Arnold said the Hill car stopped suddenly to turn and she could not avoid a collision.

Hill was cited for operating a motor vehicle without proof of financial responsibility.

Total damage in the accident was listed at $1,000-$2,500.
