Robert Wayne 'Peanut' Campbell

Robert Wayne "Peanut" Campbell, 81, Danville, died Saturday, March 10, 2012.

He was born Oct. 31, 1930 in Logansport, Ind., to Glen and Helen (Sinclair) Campbell.

"Peanut" was a 1949 graduate of Greencastle High School.

He married Phyllis J. Pace in 1950, and she survives.

He farmed and was a truck driver for Dohrn Transfer, Indianapolis, for 30 years.

He was also a bus driver for Danville, Tri-West, Avon and Plainfield schools for several years before retiring in 2007.

He was a member of New Maysville Community Church, the Danville Masonic Lodge and Teamsters Local 135.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis; children Dale Campbell, Indianapolis, Larry (Pam) Campbell, Danville, Larry Campbell, New Winchester, Diane (Brent) Owen, Oakley, Ill., and Delaine (Phil) Bowman, Tilden; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a sister, Betty Siegelin, California.

"Peanut" was preceded in death by a son, Dean, and s sister, Nancy Nickerson.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 13 in Weaver & Randolph Funeral Home, Danville, with visitation 4-8 p.m. Monday, March 12. Burial will be in New Winchester Cemetery.
