Michael Lee Phillips

Michael Lee Phillips, 62, Williamsburg, Va., passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2012.

Mike was born May 18, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, in which he earned a Bronze Star.

He had worked as a computer programmer analyst.

Mike's parents, Edwin and Irene (Wichmann) Phillips were originally from the Greencastle area. He spent a lot of time in Putnam County visiting both sets of grandparents, Emma and Fred Wichmann and Clara and Raymond Phillips.

He is survived by his wife Linda (Davidson) Phillips, son Marcus Phillips, daughter Marla (Phillips) Contreras, stepdaughter Karen (Dodd) Crooke, and sister Pamela (Phillips) Van Note. Also surviving are his four grandchildren, Angelina Barbian, Roberto Contreras, Michael Contreras, and Kaitlin Phillips.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents and sister Patti (Phillips) Mansfield.

A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday, March 31 at Brick Chapel United Methodist Church. Graveside services will follow at Brick Chapel Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family at the church from noon until the time of service.
