Egg-stravagant Fun at McCloud on Saturday

Monday, April 2, 2012

The Easter Bunny weighs about five pounds, loves carrots and is available for photography on Saturday.

The McCloud Nature Park is hosting Egg-Stravaganza from 2-4 p.m. on April 7 where families can meet a real-life bunny, engage in an educational program and work on arts and crafts projects.

McCloud's naturalist will kick things off by conducting a 30-minute program designed to teach kids about rabbits and the role they play in nature.

For the remainder of the event a craft table will be set up for take-home decorations and a bunny will be available to pose with in personal photographs.

Following the event, McCloud's scenic "bunny trails" will be available to hop along for the remainder of the afternoon.

McCloud Nature Park is located at 8518 North Hughes Road. Admission is free and the park is open daily from dawn to dusk. The nature center is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. an Sunday from 1-5 p.m.
