Three more stars seek dancing glory on April 14

The fourth annual Dancing with the Putnam County Stars is set for Saturday, April 14 at the DePauw University Indoor Tennis and Track Center. Local celebrities will go toe to toe and raise money for Putnam County Youth Development. This is the second set of three in a series of 11 biographies about this year's stars.

Mark Timm is the president of Cottage Garden Inc. He and his wife Ann have six children: boys Markus, Kavyn and Zachary and girls Mary, Cassandra and Grace.

Timm enjoys helping kids and considers his favorite hobby being the best dad he can be. Agreeing to participate was a no-brainer.

"The cause is awesome and it sounded like fun," Timm said. "(I hope to gain) some new friends, a few dance moves and help the young people of Putnam County."

Sherry Cash

Sherry Cash is a retired registered nurse. She and her husband of 43 years, Ron, have two children and six grandchildren.

Cash is a member of two book clubs and also enjoys gardening and interior decorating.

Active in Bethel Baptist Church and volunteers in the CASA program, Cash said she is relishing the opportunity to participate in the contest, something that seemed impossible not too long ago.

"It is a way to thank my parents for their love and dedication to making sure I could walk and now dance," Cash said. "I was born with bilateral club feet. They spent 12 years taking me to an orthopedic specialist, applying splints, physical therapy and buying extremely ugly corrective shoes. This is my ultimate gift to them."

Rick Woodall

Rick Woodall is co-owner of S&W Feed Center. He has been married to his wife Rhonda for 25 years and has three children, Sheridan, 25, Rachel, 23 and Austin, 21.

He enjoys golf, 4-H and showing hogs and cattle. He looks forward to the competition because he will hopes to impress Rhonda.

Woodall looks forward to "dancing with my wife and not stepping on her toes."

It will help raise money for kids in the community, but is optimistic about his chances of making a fool of himself

"I'm an idiot," Woodall said.

He is a member of Greencastle Christian Church, a FFA judge, 4-H beef barn superintendent, and in the past has been a board member for the 4-H Council and Putnam County Leadership Council.
