Tina Fogle of Greencastle is seeking the Putnam County Council At-Large position on the Republican ballot in the May 8 primary.

Fogle has been a Putnam County resident since 2001 when she and her husband moved to Greencastle after he retired from the United States Air Force.

She has been married to Jay Fogle for 26 years.

They have two children, a daughter who attends Purdue University and a son in the seventh grade.

Fogle previously served as the assistant director of a U.S. Army child care center, as an executive secretary for the U.S. Air Force, and most recently she was an educational aide in the Greencastle School system.

"I currently am a stay-at-home mom and home school our son," she said in announcing her candidacy. "I am also a steering committee member of a local home school organization and am responsible for helping plan classes for the group."

She is also a member of Greencastle Christian Church.

"Although not previously involved in politics, I have become increasingly concerned about the direction our country is headed and decided to run for County Council and get involved at the local level," the first-time candidate said, adding she "would like the opportunity to serve Putnam County."

If elected, Fogle indicated her No. 1 priority would be "finding ways to get the funding needed to improve our roads and other infrastructure."

"I believe that the condition of our local infrastructure is vital in increasing the growth of business and jobs in our county," she said.
