May 6 Mother Earth Bike Ride to help promote sustainable transportation

The Mother Earth Bike Ride, sponsored by Covered Bridge Cyclery, Friends of the Park, People Pathways and the Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department, is set for 1 p.m. Sunday, May 6.

Riders will have a choice between a 10-mile or 25-mile route.

Bicycle helmets are required and pre-registration are required for the free bike ride that begins from the north side of the Putnam County Courthouse Square. Deadline for registration is Thursday, May 3.

Organizers invite everyone to "make a statement to reduce our carbon footprint while enjoying a fun and sustainable form of transportation."
