Tiger Cubs win, Cougars fall in baseball action

CRAWFORDSVILLE -- The Greencastle baseball squad picked up a 7-5 win over Southmont Saturday.

Nick Hutcheson provided a big lift for the Tiger Cubs, going 4-for-4 with three RBI and a home run. Dylan Linton and Ryan Battin recorded two doubles each. Linton and Pettit added an RBI each.

Brant Mangrum pitched five innings, allowing five hits and four strikeouts. Cole Pohlar pitched two innings of relief, giving up one hit and striking out two.

Greencastle will travel to South Putnam today at 5 p.m.

NORTH PUTNAM

ROACHDALE -- The North Putnam baseball team fell to Cascade 9-3 Friday on the road.

Jordan Nauert was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Brodie Perrine, Beau Green, Austin Day and Coy Flynn added a hit each.

Kyler Badten was dealt the loss, giving up five runs, while striking out two.

North Putnam will travel to Monrovia tonight at 5 p.m.
