Clifton E. Shipley

Clifton E. Shipley, 57, of Lebanon, Tenn., and a former Glasgow, Ky., resident, died Monday, May 7, 2012 in Hartsville, Tenn., as the result of an automobile accident.

He was born in Glasgow, the son of the late Ralph D. Shipley and Gloria Jones Shipley of Glasgow, who survives.

Cliff was a 1972 graduate of Temple Hill High School, a member of the Temple Hill Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Also a former Putnam County resident, he was a project manager for the communication engineering firm of Teleplexus Inc. in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

He was a musician and enjoyed fishing, golf and other outdoor activities.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Debra Bratcher Shipley; a son, Jeremy Spillman of Bellevue, Tenn.; a brother, Phillip Shipley, Glasgow; two sisters, Carla Deckard and husband Timmy of Glasgow, and Connie Garmon and husband Eddie of Lakeland, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 12 at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, Glasgow, with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Friday.
