Greencastle summer food program feeds kids for free

With summer right around the corner, it's time to think about keeping children healthy while school is out. Greencastle High School and Ridpath Primary School provide free meals to children during the summer.

Meals at Ridpath School will begin on Tuesday, May 29 and continue Monday through Friday until July 27. Breakfast is from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Greencastle High School serving begins on Monday, June 4 and goes until June 29. Breakfast is from 7-8 a.m. and lunch from 10:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Free meals will be made available to all children 18 years of age and under and to persons over 18 years who are enrolled in a state-approved educational program for the mentally or physically disabled. Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children. There will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.

There are no income requirements or registration. Any child 18 and under may come to either school for a nutritious breakfast and or lunch.
