Robert "Bob" G. Tresner, 84, of Greencastle passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2012.

He was born on March 20, 1928 in Marion County to Harry I. Tresner and Lola Marie Hinote Tresner.

Bob served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He attended the University of New Mexico and graduated from Indiana University.

He was employed at IBM for 27 years.

Bob was a member of the VFW, Temple Masonic Lodge 47, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, American Quarter Horse Association and a life member of the Quarter Horse Racing Association of Indiana.

His parents, and a sister, Kay Jean Stewart, preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Shirley R. Wiegand Tresner; brother-in-law Jim Wiegand and wife Becky of Cloverdale, brother-in-law Richard Stewart of Austin, Texas; niece Tina Kissinger and husband Jason of Schererville; nephew James Wiegand and wife Catherine of Cloverdale; nephew Brian Stewart of Austin, Texas; niece Brenda Randall of Austin, Texas; and several cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, May 25 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Rev. Alan Small officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
