Donna Jane Barr Litton, 84, beloved mother, grandmother and sister, passed away at 6:25 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2012 at Paris Healthcare Center.

She was born in Edgar County, Ill., to Charles R. and Ila L. (Hale) Barr, and spent her entire life in Edgar County. She married Horatio E. Litton on July 25, 1947 in Henderson, Ky.

During her working years, she was a dependable employee of A&P Grocery, Zenith and Meco. She worked until age 70.

She served as president of the VFW 3601 Women's Auxiliary, was a member of American Legion Post 211 Auxiliary, and was of the Christian faith.

She was proud to attain her GED while in her 60s. Donna was an excellent cook known for her delicious apple and berry cobblers and homemade yeast rolls. She was widowed at age 44.

She was the proud mother of, and is survived by her children, Donna Bouslog (Larry) of Greencastle, Michael Litton (Kathy) of Brocton, Ill., and Cary Litton (Becky) of Paris, Ill.; four grandchildren, Todd Bouslog (Lesley) of Noblesville, Timothy Bouslog (Laura) of Fishers, Jennifer Creech (Greg) of Hartford City, and Jessica Dunn (Ryan) of Manhattan, Ill.; and five great-grandchildren, Taylor Marie Bouslog, Vanessa Grace Bouslog, Scott Matthew Dunn, Levi Ryan Dunn and Riley Lynn Creech.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Horatio Litton; a daughter, Carolyn Jean Litton; long-time companion John Mitchell; and two brothers, Donald Barr and Amos "Inkie" Barr.

For those who wish, the family suggests memorials be made to Paris Healthcare Center or to a charity of the donor's choice.

The family extends gratitude to the caring and compassionate staff at Paris Healthcare.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 6 at Templeton Funeral Home, Paris, Ill. Burial will follow in Edgar Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
