Celebrating a quarter-century of operations in Greencastle, Heartland Automotive conducted an open house Saturday at the facility on Warren Drive in Greencastle. The company has made auto components since 1987 on the city's East Side as the American headquarters for Shigeru Industries of Ota City, Japan. Employee Lee Ann Gray (right) points out to boyfriend Lonnie Deal details of the instrument panel Heartland manufactures for the Subaru Legacy. The open house, which featured tours of the plant, a barbecue lunch and a bounce house outside, was a family affair for eight-year Heartland employee Greg Hatton and wife Ashley, who has been employed at the plant for 18 months. The couple were accompanied by daughter Dakotah,5, son Kale, 7 months, and grandma Vickie Reed.
