Alice Mary Burk

Alice Mary Burk, 60, of Brazil, died Saturday, June 23, 2012 at St. Vincent Clay Hospital in Brazil.

She was born July 6, 1951 in Danville, Ill., the daughter of Herbert Wm. and Elsie F. Bowler Dixon Sr.

She completed nursing training and had worked as a LPN.

She attended the Church of the Living Christ in Harmony.

She married Larry Allan Burk Sr., and he survives.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Lydia Dixon, Clara Dixon, Florence Brookshier and Carol Lopez; brother Henry Dixon; mother-in-law Opal Burk; father-in-law William Burk; and sister-in-law Thersa Denny.

She is survived by her husband, Larry A. Burk Sr.; brothers Herbert "Buddy" Dixon Jr. (Melody), John Shepherd and Richard Overpeck; sisters Emily Davis (Larry) and Elsie Haga (Eddie); children Kimberly Powell (Bradley), Larry Burk (Angie), Christy Marshall (Jammie) and William Burk (Danielle Mace); 13 grandchildren; son-in-law Pat Houser (Tamra); sisters-in-law Marcia Carter (Rick) and Sandra Silcox (Joe); brothers-in-law Pat and Tamra Houser, Ron Denny (Sharon), Jeff Denny (Ronna), Steve Burk (Debbie) and Mike Burk (Judy); and other extended family.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 28 at Moore Funeral Home, Brazil.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Greencastle.
