Baker's Body Shop grand opening set for July 1

Friday, June 29, 2012

Putnam County residents will soon have another option when deciding where to have their damaged vehicles repaired. The grand opening and cruise-in for Baker's Body Shop will be Sunday, July 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Baker's Body Shop is owned and operated by Larry Baker Jr., a longtime Greencastle resident.

Baker began his career in auto body work in 1998 with a body shop in Terre Haute. In 2002 Baker began taking side jobs out of his home garage. In 2011 he decided to make his dream a reality and began operating his business full-time through his home garage.

And now Baker is furthering his dreams by relocating the business to the new north-side Greencastle location at 82 N. U.S. 231.

Baker holds many certifications, including the I-CAR Gold certification, DuPont Color Match certification and Automotive Glass certification.

In 2009 Baker took the Best in Show, Best in Paint and Monty Beaman's Choice awards for two of his custom-built motorcycles at the Putnam County Humane Society's Cause for the Paws Car Show.

He also won the Best in Paint Motorcycle Class award in 2009 and 2011 for the Greencastle Run for Fun. And in 2011, Baker's custom-built motorcycle was featured at the Hard Rock Café in downtown Indianapolis for the Sugarland Disaster Benefit Bike Show.

Baker's Body Shop works with all insurance companies and offers a full range of services. Customers can visit Baker's Body Shop for collision repair, custom painting, airbrushing, car/truck accessories, motorcycle accessories, chrome refinishing, audio/video, lift/lowering kits, remote start systems, alarm systems, keyless entry, window tinting, paintless dent repair, custom motorcycle building, spray-in bed liners and wheels/tires.

Baker's Body shop is a reseller of many popular products such as Sinister motorcycle wheels, Bad Dad motorcycle accessories, L.E.D. Glow lighting, Kenwood, Audio Pipe, Fusion, BOSS, TView, Excalibur, MKW wheels and Scorpion bed-liners.

The Baker's Body Shop grand-opening event will include a cruise-in car show -- display only, food, beverages and a raffle drawing.

Three grand opening specials will be available throughout July on spray-in bed liners, Kenwood in-dash CD players (carry out), and full economy paint job (body work additional).
