TERRE HAUTE -- The Greencastle girls' golf team placed ninth at the Braves Invitational Tuesday. The Tiger Cubs (436) placed behind South Putnam who finished seventh with a total of 414 and Cloverdale who were eighth with a 424. Jasper won the event with a score of 317.

"We played quite well on the front nine with a team score of 210, which should show the girls what they are capable of," GHS head coach Brad Kingma said. "We weren't able to maintain that pace on the back though, shooting 16 strokes worse.

"Lauren had her personal best including a 50 on the front nine. If she hadn't taken a bad 3 putt on No. 9, she could have broken 50 for the first time, which should be good motivation," Kingma added.

Cloverdale's Sydney Shrum was the county's top finisher, placing third overall with a score of 77.

Greencastle was led by Kenzie St. Marie with a 104, followed by Lauren Bridgewater with a 107. Liz Johnson shot a 109 and Lokysa Scheuermann shot a 116.

Caitlyn Boyce led South Putnam with a 94, with Madison Cash adding a 104. Kyndra Boyce shot a 107, Sarah Woodworth a 109 and Clair Perry shot a 113.

In addition to Shrum's 77, Cloverdale's Makayla Moore shot a 99 and Anna Spencer shot a 117. Savanna Gaddis carded a 131 and Elizabeth Wardlow ended her day with a 139.
