Fire Department

The Greencastle Fire Department went on several runs recently.

* On Monday, Aug. 13 at 3:18 p.m. crews were sent to a fire alarm at 303 S. Locust St. They were in service at 3:48.

At 8:58 p.m. fire workers investigated a gas leak at 2 W. Seminary St., then returned to station at 9:20 p.m.

At 10:59 p.m. they were dispatched to 300 S. Warren Drive for an alarm. They returned at 11:31 p.m.

* On Tuesday, Aug. 14 at 2:52 p.m. crews were sent to a two-car motor vehicle accident at the corner of N. College and Shadowlawn avenues. There were no injuries and fire workers were in station at 3:12.

* On Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 9:10 a.m. fire workers were dispatched to 413 Anderson St. for a malfunctioning alarm. They returned at 9:26 a.m.

At 11:03 a.m. they were sent to 1650 W. CR 125 for an unauthorized burn. They were in service at 11:10 a.m.

At 1:57 p.m. there was a call for an alarm at 653 S. CR 100, but crews were called off en route at 2:02 p.m.

At 4:11 p.m. a motor vehicle accident occurred at the corner of Veterans Highway and 10th Street. Fire workers were disregarded at 4:12 p.m.

* On Thursday, Aug. 16 at 2:09 a.m. crews were dispatched to 1155 Avenue E for a medical lift assist. They returned to the station at 2:23 a.m.
