City's 2012 street paving projects to begin Monday

Thursday, August 23, 2012

On Monday, Aug. 27, Wabash Valley Asphalt will begin the milling and paving works on sections of Greencastle streets scheduled for resurfacing this year.

As released by the Greencastle Department of Public Works, the schedule is as follows:

Monday, Aug. 27 -- Milling of the intersection of Berry and Locust streets, along with Jacob Street, Columbia Street and Judson Drive.

Wednesday, Aug. 29 -- Paving of Jacob and Columbia streets and Castleton Drive.

Thursday, Aug. 30 -- Paving of Judson Drive, South Arlington Street and Berry Street.

Friday, Aug. 31 -- Paving of Fillmore Road (from State Road 240 to city limits).

A section of Liberty Street that was scheduled for resurfacing this year will be postponed until next year's paving schedule due to Miller Pipeline replacing old existing gas mains and services in the area.

No-parking signs will be posted along the sections of streets that will be milled and paved.

The resurfacing work schedule, of course, is weather permitting.
