Patricia M. Braden, 73, recently of St. Louis, Mo., and formerly of Greencastle, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2012.

She was born on March 24, 1939 in Muncie to Ernest "Dude" Olden and Isabelle Bass Olden.

Pat graduated from Anderson High School and was a Mary Kay consultant.

Mrs. Braden was a member of Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church; an active member of the NAACP; and was an active resident at Barnes Jewish Extended Care and Nursing Facility in St. Louis, serving on the Decorating Committee of the Sunshine Wing.

Pat was involved in the Putnam County Democratic Party and was a volunteer teacher of smoking cessation and prevention classes at Putnamville Correctional Facility.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William R. Braden.

Surviving are her children, Terry L. Dawson and wife Yimha of Fishers, Tracy L. Edwards and husband Marty of Noblesville, Tamara L. Dawson of St. Louis, and Elizabeth A. Isom of Indianapolis; a sister, Gloria Granger and husband Bobby of Anderson; three brothers, Larry Olden, Lamont Olden and Leonard Olden; 10 grandchildren, Barry D. Baynard, Erik S. Baynard, Jessica N. Baynard, Amanda A. Edwards, Christopher J. Edwards, Angela J. Adley, Jamie A. Murphy, Shannon B. Murphy, Kwiesi Dawson and Freedom Dawson; a great-grandchild, Kaihlana Baynard; one niece, four nephews and many cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Rev. Dr. P.T. Wilson officiating.

Interment will follow at Beech Grove Cemetery in Muncie at 2:30 p.m.

The family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
