League invites public to Open Door Law discussion

On Sept. 20, 2012, Joe Hoage, Indiana's public access counselor will be giving a presentation on the Open Door Law and the Access to Public Records Act. The presentation will take place at 6:30 p.m. at Greencastle City Hall.

Mr. Hoage was appointed by Gov. Mitch Daniels in 2011. As public access counselor, his job is to provide advice and assistance concerning Indiana's Public Access Laws to members of the public, government officials and government employees.

This meeting is an opportunity for elected and appointed officials to learn more about their responsibilities under the law. It is also a chance for community members to learn their rights. There will be time for questions following Mr. Hoage's presentation.

This meeting is open to all community members and is sponsored by the Greencastle League of Women Voters and the Banner-Graphic.
