CHARLENE LOGAN of Russellville received the Clock Award at a recent meeting of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association workshop.

The award is presented by Anthem Blue Cross-Blue Shield to honor those who devote extensive hours to volunteering.

Charlene serves her church, the Russellville Community Center, County Extension Homemakers and offers her services for tutoring and babysitting.

She is a member of the Putnam County Retired Teachers, which begins its 2012-13 meetings on Sept. 10 at noon at the Putnam Inn.

Local students joined the Purdue community by participating in the annual Boiler Gold Rush program at Purdue University's West Lafayette campus.
