Milling Days and Craft Demo Days on tap Sept. 8-9 at Bridgeton

BRIDGETON -- The annual Bridgeton Milling and Craft Demonstration Days event is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 8-9. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

Milling Days celebrates the birthday of Oliver Evans, the father of modern milling. Visitors can tour the Bridgeton Mill and see the 200-year-old French buhr stones grind corn into cornmeal and grits.

Craft Demonstration Days at the 1878 house and barn feature pioneer and modern crafters at work creating their wares.

Visitors can learn to make their own unique handmade items. Woodworkers and bowl carvers, spinners, knitters and other fiber artists will be demonstrating and selling unique handmade items.

Tours of the 1822 log cabin offer a look at how early settlers lived.

Admission is free with free parking available.

Bridgeton is located 10 miles south of Rockville, or west off State Road 59 north of Brazil.
