Annual Putnam County Life Chain set Sunday at St. Paul's

Saturday, October 6, 2012

The seventh Annual Putnam County Life Chain will take place on Sunday, Oct. 7, from 2:30--3:30 p.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Greencastle.

Life Chain is a peaceful and public pro-life witness. Participants meet at 2 p.m. in the church parking lot at 202 E. Washington St., Greencastle. Professionally printed signs are handed out and the code of conduct is read by all participants.

After a short prayer the group moves to the sidewalks of U.S. 231 downtown to pray for one hour. At the same time, thousands of pro-lifers across the USA and Canada are holding Life Chains and also praying for our nation and for an end to abortion.

More than 1,300 Life Chains will form, including 30 in Indiana cities.

Life Chain is an interfaith gathering. Several churches from Putnam County have joined in and attendance each year has been around 80 people.

There is no money involved in the event. Bring your whole family. Umbrellas, strollers and water bottles are welcome.

Participants will stand in the rain or sunshine.

St. Paul the Apostle High School Youth Group will be sponsoring this event.
