Norberg to speak Thursday at Purdue Club Dinner Program

John Norberg, a Lafayette journalist and author of books on Purdue University history and achievements, will speak Thursday, Oct. 25 at a dinner sponsored by the Purdue Club of Putnam County.

The 6:30 p.m. dinner and program at Autumn Glen in Greencastle is open to the public.

Norberg has authored six books, including "Wings of Their Dreams: Purdue in Flight," focusing on the history of flight and space and individuals who have contributed to Purdue's importance in aviation and space achievements. Norberg will discuss those at the dinner.

He also has written "Heartbeat of the University: 125 Years of Purdue Bands" and "Three Tigers and Purdue: Stories of Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and an American University," which details the long relationship between Purdue and those countries through stories of international students at Purdue.

A communication manager at Purdue, Norberg is a DePauw University graduate and started his career at the Brazil Times. A 30-year journalist with the Lafayette Journal & Courier, he still writes a column for the newspaper.
