DePauw loses fourth straight Monon Bell, gets shut out by Wabash

Saturday, November 10, 2012

CRAWFORDSVILLE -- In the 119th game between the rival schools Wabash College was able to maintain its claim on the Monon Bell trophy, defeating DePauw University 23-0.

Little Giants junior running back Tyler Holmes had 33 carries for 169 and a touchdown.

Wabash has now won the last four Monon Bell Classics and holds a 57-53-9 career record in the series.

"We just didn't put enough together to make it matter and get the ball in the end zone," DePauw interim head coach Scott Srnka said. "You saw today that we didn't stop playing. We played our butts off.

"That's because of these darn seniors. Because of their commitment and what they wanted to do -- they wanted to finish on a strong note."

A complete game story will be available in Tuesday's issue of the Banner Graphic.
