Jared Joseph Boyd

Jared Joseph Boyd, 21, of Roachdale, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012 at his home after a 3-1/2 year battle with Ewing's Sarcoma.

He was born Oct. 25, 1991 in Freeport, Ill., the son of Timothy W. and Loretta J. (Strunk) Boyd.

He was a member of the North Salem Baptist Church. He accepted Christ as his Savior when he was seven years old.

Jared studied at Indiana Baptist College in Greenwood. He enjoyed music and violin. He was a summer staff worker at the Bill Rice Ranch in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his brothers Tim (Rachel) Boyd of Roachdale, Ben (Karina) Boyd of Danville, Luke Boyd and Jordan Boyd both of Roachdale; sisters Katie (Valentino) Ciccarelli of Pensacola, Fla., and Grace Boyd of Roachdale; maternal grandparents Robert E. (Lois) Strunk Sr. of Roachdale; paternal grandmother Jean Gorman of New Castle; and niece Kinley Boyd.

Friends will be received Friday, Nov. 23, starting at 4 p.m., and again at 10 a.m. Saturday, prior to the service, at the North Salem Baptist Church, 219 N. Ladoga Ave., North Salem.

Services will be conducted at the church at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24.

Interment will follow in the Roachdale Cemetery.
