Friends of Library holiday book sale to begin on 'Black Friday'

Wednesday, November 21, 2012

Putnam County residents are invited to take the stress out of this year's "Black Friday" and browse for bargains at the Putnam County Public Library.

Just in time for early holiday shopping, the Friends of the Putnam County Library's Third Annual Holiday Book Sale will take place in the lobby of the library beginning on "Black Friday," Nov. 23 and run through Saturday, Dec. 8.

Gently used books will be offered for low prices, including children's books, cookbooks, mysteries, histories, romances, biographies, novels and "coffee table" books.

Science fiction, sports, gardening, religion, business, travel, hobbies, health and fitness will be available for the book lovers on your list. Browsers can also check out the Book Sale Rooms, located downstairs and through the Children's Room, for additional finds.

The Friends of the Putnam County Public Library exists to promote literacy, the love of reading and the freedom to read by supporting PCPL with money, moral support, programs and volunteer service.

Some of its sponsored programs include the library's annual Halloween Free Book Program, which more than 1,200 children attended this year, the popular summer movie series, a variety of events and speakers, and Imagination Library.
