Fresh off a weekend in which it defeated a pair of top-10 teams, the DePauw women's basketball team now sits atop the D3hoops.com Top 25 poll.

The Tigers collected 23 of a possible 25 first-place votes and totaled 621 points in the first regular season poll. Mount Union is second with 569 points, while Wisconsin-Stevens Point is third with 514.

DePauw is off to its first 5-0 start since the 2002-03 season after winning the weekend tournament at Illinois Wesleyan. The Tigers topped Washington-St. Louis, 60-59, and the host Titans, 75-52.

Since the poll started in 1999, DePauw has been ranked in the top 25 159 out of a possible 202 rankings and in the top five 23 times. However, this marks the Tigers' first number-one ranking during the regular season. DePauw garnered the top spot in 2007 after winning the Division III title.

The Tigers open defense of their North Coast Athletic Conference championship on Saturday, December 1, when they travel to Denison for a 2 p.m. contest.
