Local bowler Scott Alexander recently had a 300 game in league play at A 'n J Bowl, the first since the Greencastle alleys reopened.
Alexander was bowling on lanes nine and 10 and using his new 15-pound Ebonite ball.
He carried a 209 average in the league, but said it was just a matter of time for him to roll a perfect game.
He's previously rolled a 299 and 298, but the pins didn't fall his way.
"One time, when I managed, I had the first nine strikes and then the kitchen caught fire," Alexander said.
Alexander is the coach for the Greencastle High School team, and managed the Greencastle bowling alley before it closed two years ago.
He's been bowling in leagues for 30 years, but this was his first career 300 game.
"If it wasn't for the high school team, I probably would have gotten out of bowling all together," Alexander said.
He said A 'n J Bowl is his favorite alley because it's a tough house, which has helped him hone his craft.
A 'n J Bowl is located at 1250 S. Jackson.
