Defenders of Liberty to host speakers opposed to Common Core Monday night

Saturday, December 8, 2012

The Greencastle Defenders of Liberty will host four speakers who will address their stand against the Common Core State Standards.

Guest speakers Jane Robbins, J.D. and senior fellow at the American Principles Project; Emmett McGroarty, executive director, Preserve Innocence Project; and Erin Tuttle and Heather Crossin, concerned Indiana parent activists against the Common Core State Standards, will be on hand at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10 at the Dixie Chopper Business Center at the Putnam County Airport, 102 Ballard Lane, Greencastle.

They and others have expressed concerns that the federal government is taking over the education of every American student.

The public is invited to attend the Defenders of Liberty's monthly meeting to learn about the influence of Common Core in our state.
