Sheriff's Department

* On Saturday, Dec. 22 at 11:48 a.m. Shawn B. Diebold, 31, Bainbridge, was westbound on County Road 850 North in a 1997 Ford Explorer when he slid on ice, causing the vehicle to leave the road and hit an embankment and flip onto its driver's side.

Deputy Adam Hull said the vehicle came to rest back on its tires.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

* At 4:49 p.m. Raine M. Young, 22, Bainbridge, was southbound on Heritage Drive in a 1998 Saturn SC.

As Young attempted to turn left onto County Road 800 East, he lost control, sliding into a northbound 1991 GMC driven by Vince W. McFerron, 43, Coates-ville.

Deputy Ronnie Campbell estimated damages at $2,501-$5,000.

* On Wednesday, Dec. 26 at 7:25 p.m. Kelsey L. Mitchell, 22, Greencastle, was westbound on State Road 240 at approximately County Road 525 East in a 2007 Volkswagen Jetta.

As she entered a curve, Mitchell lost control of her vehicle due to snow and ice. The car left the south side of the road, hitting a sign post, plowing through the ditch and landing on the passenger side of the vehicle, facing south.

Mitchell was transported to Putnam County Hospital with a possible fracture or dislocation to her neck.

A passenger, Victoria A. Perry Mullins, 21, Greencastle, was also taken to the hospital with a shoulder injury.

Deputy Mike Downing estimated damages at $2,501-$5,000.

* On Thursday, Dec. 27 at 12:56 a.m. Comer A. Vickery, 62, Atmore, Ala., was trying to back into a parking space at the Cloverdale Travel Plaza, 1032 N. Main St. in a 2012 International truck.

Due to snow and ice, Vickery's truck began to slide sideways and into a 2007 Volvo VNL registered to Knight Transport Inc., Noblesville.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

* At 5:45 p.m. Courtney S. Stanley, 18, Clayton, was westbound on County Road 100 North in a 1999 Ford Explorer when she hit a patch of ice and snow, causing her to lose control of the vehicle.

The SUV left the north side of the road, hitting a concrete corner post, spinning at least 1.5 times, and coming to rest in the ditch facing south.

Stanley refused medical attention and was taken home by her mother.

Downing estimated damages at $5,001-$10,000.

* On Thursday, Dec. 28 at 12:41 a.m. Charles W. Delattre, 45, Coates-ville, was westbound on State Road 236 in a 2006 Mercury Montego when he hit a deer.

Deputy Dwight Simmons estimated damages at $2,501-$5,000.

City Police

A 21-year-old Indianapolis man was cited recently for possession of paraphernalia, Greencastle City Police reported.

Joseph Moy was cited for the infraction by Officer Matt Huffman at 10 p.m. Dec. 21 at Fifth Street and Avenue C on the city's East Side.

One recent traffic citation was also reported by GPD officers.

At 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, Connor Rich, 19, Tipton, was ticketed by Officer Huffman for going the wrong way on a one-way street. Rich was cited on South Indiana at Hanna Street.
