Stirring at the Swizzle Stick

Friday, January 11, 2013

The familiar blue tarp may be back in place today to protect the front of the Swizzle Stick and a portion of the Almost Home facade on the north side of the square from rainy weather, but on Wednesday renovation of the second story of the building began to take shape. Workers from Advance Restoration Contractors (ARC), Indianapolis, were busy framing up the window casings as part of the new facade design. The storefront presented the biggest surprise of the facade portion of the city's Stellar Communities grant project when the old facade was removed and instead of finding brick beneath it, workers discovered only plywood in its place.
