Chuckin' Wood

Friday, January 18, 2013
Banner Graphic/ERIC BERNSEE Tossing a piece of firewood into the bed of his pickup Thursday morning, Richard Butts continues the process of clearing one of the lots in the Deer Field Estates subdivision along Shadowlawn Avenue in Greencastle. Butts, who is retired from Allison's at Indianapolis, said he has cleared about 30 trees from the two lots on the south side of the road where the property owner is expected to build a new home. Tuesday's pickup load was the eighth or ninth he's hauled out with a couple dozen more loads to go for Butts, who says he burns wood at his home near Manhattan.
