GHS JV girls lose tough game to Bulldogs

Saturday, February 2, 2013

The Greencastle girls' junior varsity basketball team had 25 turnovers and failed to get a double-digit scorer in its loss to visiting Monrovia on Thursday night.

The Tiger Cubs fell behind by three points at the half and the score held in the 30-27 Bulldogs win.

GHS dropped to a still-impressive 17-3 for the season.

Sydney Smiley led the squad with nine points, followed closely by Alison White who scored eight.

The Bulldogs spread the scoring load as Alaina Loogere and Baylee Russell each scored eight, followed by Kenna Hunter's seven.

Both teams struggled to find a rhythm in the first half. GHS came out fast from the break and tied the game after three quarters, but Monrovia answered and pulled away for a three-point win.
