MOORSEVILLE -- The Greencastle High School varsity wrestling team won of its three matches Tuesday. The Tiger Cubs defeated Anderson, 49-18 and Tri-West 48-33, before losing to Mooresville 47-28. In its first match with Anderson, Greencastle won 10 of the matches with five of the wins coming by way of pin fall. In its second bout with Tri-West, Greencastle won eight of the matches with four wins coming from pin fall...

WEST TERRE HAUTE -- The Cloverdale varsity wrestling team lost to West Vigo Tuesday, 52-18. Varsity winners for the Clovers included Derick Evans in the 152- pound weight class, Alex Gardiner in the 189-pound weight class and Alex Swenson in the 175-pound class...

WEST TERRE HAUTE -- The South Putnam girls' varsity basketball continued its undefeated season Tuesday, defeating West Vigo, 61-33, improving to 5-0 on the season. Leading South Putnam, Meghan Canary led all scorers with 18 points on seven field goals. Jessica Canary added 14 points for the Eagles, while Dara Booe had eight points in the game...

NEW MARKET - The 2005-06 season didn't start the way the North Putnam High School boys' basketball team wanted as Cougars lost their season opener to the Southmont Mounties, 63-51. The night didn't start bad for Cougars when as they only trailed 14-11 after one quarter of play, until Adam Welch of Southmont got hot, hitting back-to-back three pointers that started the Mounties on their 21-12 second-quarter run. ...

From Staff Reports CRAWFORDSVILLE -- The Greencastle girls' varsity basketball team lost a close game to Crawfordsville Tuesday, 42-39. Although the Tiger Cubs came up short, Greencastle Coach Glenn Hile was proud of his team's improvement. "We played really well," Hile said. "We got beat by a good Crawfordsville team. It's a game that I think personally we should've won."...

The DePauw women's cross country team recently finished 16th at the Division III Championships. DePauw senior Leslie Dillon capped off her collegiate career by becoming DePauw's first female cross country All-American, finishing ninth in 22:30. Johanna Fickenscher placed 122nd in 24:18.6, while Emily Mason finished 124th in 24:18.9. Julie Theibert finished 149th in 24:29.9...
