City negotiating deal to sell industrial land

AED used to save man in emergency at air show

A Putnam County man survived a cardiac event this past weekend during the Putnam County Airport Appreciation Days thanks to the quick actions of emergency services. An 85-year-old male collapsed and was in cardiac arrest. Bystanders performed immediate CPR. A Greencastle Fire Department crew in the area quickly grabbed their automated external defibrillator. The AED was used and the crew was able to get the patient back with a pulse and breathing -- even talking with the crew...

S. Putnam Board hears insurance hike prediction

The South Putnam School Board met Wednesday during a special meeting to hear public comment about the proposed 2007 budget. But with no public available for comment, the board moved on to an insurance presentation put on by Vincennes Insurance. Vincennes Insurance, who represents Anaheim Medical Insurance in Southern Indiana and several schools and hospitals, had provided the teachers with information about changes in health benefits package earlier that afternoon...
