He was a retired semi driver for Anderson Motor Freight and O.K. Frieght Co., retiring in 1991 after 20 years. He was a U.S. Navy Air Force veteran of World War II, and was a member of the Ameircan Legion...

March 15, 1935-Oct. 25, 2006 Jerry L. Cox, 71, Greencastle, died Wednesday morning at St. Vincent Clay Hospital, Brazil. Born in Huntingburg, he was the son of Tonny Walker and Frances Louise (Schmeltkope) Cox. He attended Greencastle High School and served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, retiring in 1973. He also worked 20 years at the Plainfield Correctional Facility, retiring in 1993. He was a member of Moose Lodge 1592, VFW, American Legion, Eagles Lodge, and Elks Lodge, all in Greencastle...

A Greencastle teen faces criminal charges following an early Thursday crash that left two people in critical condition in Indianapolis hospitals. Dennise L. Smetzer, 37, Stilesville, was airlifted via Air Evac helicopter to Wishard Memorial Hospital with extensive head trauma. Her daughter, Susan Tincher, 20, Greencastle, was airlifted to Methodist Hospital with severe head trauma and leg injuries. Both women remained hospitalized later Thursday morning...
