Putnam County Fair Queen contestant applications are now being accepted and are due by Tuesday, May 29. This year's queen contest will be conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 14 at the Putnam County Fairgrounds. Contestants will appear in professional wear and an evening gown. Man dies in Saturday morning crash

A Greencastle man was killed in a single-vehicle accident early Saturday on U.S. 231 north of Cloverdale. Joseph Allen Bumgardner, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene.
