Area collectors of Peeler Pottery are reminded that a special event is planned for 1-3 p.m. today (Saturday) at the Putnam County Museum. Collectors can bring in Peeler pots, bowls, plates, sculptures, birdhouses, and more to be photographed. The museum will also accept photographs of collections...

Four Putnam County citizens have been awarded Lyon Family Scholarships through the Putnam County Community Foundation. Each scholarship recipient receives up to $10,000 a year for two years to help finance their education. Parkfest 2007 continues Tuesday evening in Greencastle with a 7 p.m. performance at the Robe-Ann Park bandshell by Mike Van Rensselaer and Steve Terry, who once again will offer a wide range of acoustic old time music. The pair has performed together for more than 20 years at festivals, schools, coffee shops, nursing homes, farmers' markets, and pubs. Sept. 30, 1933-June 21, 2007 Billy E. Lydick, 73, Coatesville, died Thursday at his residence. Born in Amo, he was the son of Roy E. and Maryan Franklin Lydick. He married Mary Lou Patrick Lydick, and she survives. He was an accountant for the Indiana Department of Transportation for 22 years and had been a banker at First National Bank in Coatesville for 35 years...
