Sheriff may face criminal investigation for missing funds

Putnam County Sheriff Mark Frisbie could be facing a criminal investigation as a result of a state audit released Monday that found $4,400 in expenses to the Sheriff's Department that could not be accounted for or were prohibited under law. The State Board of Accounts detailed more than a dozen charges in 2006 to the department's Commissary Fund that it deemed "unallowable."
