The 2008 Putnam County 4-H Fair culminated in a livestock auction Friday that netted $179,885. Although sales totals were down from last year, the number of buyers was up. Every year for at least ten years the Walden Inn, Greencastle has held a breakfast for the kids enrolled in the Enrichment Program. Nearly 50 kids enjoy a breakfast buffet once a year while attending the summer program that takes place every July. Johnston named to Hall of Fame

A lifetime of work has paid off for one local man. Robert "Bobby" Johnston was inducted June 17 into the Bill Monroe Bluegrass Hall of Fame located in Bean Blossom. He is only the 18th person to receive this mark of distinction. But it was a long road to this point...
