The peak season for deer-car crashes is October to December. Each year these accidents account for more than 150 human, and nearly one and a half million deer fatalities. According to a recent report by the Nature Conservancy of Indiana there are jellyfish in lakes, ponds and slow-moving rivers in Indiana. The site is rare but it does happen. Jellyfish are usually found in salty seas yet the freshwater jelly can be found practically all over the world. Sixth Grade students in Amy Weliever's social studies class and Stacy Stoffregen's science class at Greencastle Middle School spent part of Friday morning creating a giant map of the United States. The United Way of Putnam County has concluded their corporate phase with more than 20 percent of their goal met. At the same time the American Red Cross kicked off their fundraising campaign for the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. The Red Cross hopes to raise at least $100 million dollars by the end of the 2008 calendar year. The Wabash Valley Chapter has a goal of $63,000. The United Way of Putnam County is hoping to get $145,000 in this year's campaign...
